Meet Belinda
Hi! I’m Belinda (aka Lindy, BB, Belly)
I was gifted my first DSLR when I was 16 and a Tumblr-obsessed teen. In college I discovered an absolute love for all things related to film photography! When my daughter was born, I decided to take a break from being a children’s psychotherapist to be a stay-at-home mom. I decided to jump back into photography and have been living the dream, capturing precious moments ever since!
I have a 2-year-old named Georgia and my husband, Hunter. Those two are my absolute life, and nothing makes me happier than getting to be home with my people! My hobbies include hiking, thrifting, and enjoying coffee + matcha!
My favorite types of sessions are Fresh 48s, in-home newborn, and cake smashes! I’m also a huge fan of anytime I get to pull out one of my many film cameras to capture a memory on film!
Meet Katie
Hi, I’m Katie!
I first picked up a camera in 2014 as a creative outlet after leaving college, and what started as a fun hobby quickly turned into a lifelong passion and my full-time job. Over the years, I’ve fallen completely in love with documenting people through every kind of milestone—engagements, weddings, growing families, and all the moments in between. It’s an honor to capture memories that mean so much to others.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me soaking up time with my husband, Forrest, and our toddler daughter, Clover. Forrest and I met in marching band freshman year of high school, got married in 2016, and welcomed our baby girl in 2023. She’s truly our greatest joy. As a family, we love visiting the zoo, thrifting, discovering new restaurants, and spending slow days at home together.
Weddings are my absolute favorite to photograph because the opportunities for creativity are endless (I am the self-proclaimed detail photo queen). I also love working with families. As a toddler mom myself (along with Belinda), we’ve mastered the art of helping little ones smile and have fun in front of the camera so your session feels effortless, genuine, and joy-filled from start to finish.
My ultimate favorite thing is when a family returns to us again and again, from their engagement and wedding, through their pregnancy and maternity, newborn, and all the milestones after. It’s the highest compliment to be trusted with so many happy moments!
Why “Violet & Aster?”
When we were picking a name, we wanted something that felt totally us and told the story behind why we do what we do. Violet & Aster just clicked: Violet is Katie’s daughter’s birth flower, and Aster is Belinda’s daughter’s. Our girls are our “why” behind everything we do, and every photo we take is a little celebration of the moments that make life so magical.
